Everything you have sent is beautifully laid out and planned. Love having all the pictures of plants and timing of planting. Gives me great heart and motivation to begin the ‘no dig’ and see what results occur over the next few months. A very great service Lizzie – thank you so much.

I recently bought my first home and was desperate to make the garden my own but didn’t know where to start. I worked with Lizzie on the ‘quick start’ package which was perfect for me. Being a complete novice gardener, Lizzie made it easy, by talking through ideas and how to achieve them. She gave me step by step instructions and answered all my questions along the way. Her passion for gardening is infectious and I now feel I have the enthusiasm, confidence and know how to continue making my garden the best it can be. Thank you Lizzie!

I love the idea of being a gardener but the fact is I fall at the first hurdle, confidence and knowhow. Lizzie manages to show me how to do things in a way that demystifies the whole thing, and makes me keen to know more.

After more than 50 years in two different large south facing gardens I recently moved to a modern house with a very small shady garden made on a former car park with no depth of soil. Lizzie’s enthusiastic and imaginative approach was really encouraging. She suggested lots of great shade loving plants for me to choose from and helped me to design an attractive group of raised beds to plant them in. She also assisted a great deal with the practical tasks of digging out and replanting. And now just six months after moving in I have what promises to be another lovely garden.

As a young person living in London I had no idea where to begin with my small rented courtyard garden. Lizzie taught me the fundamentals and helped me design a transportable container garden that I can take with me when I move on. Her patient and heartfelt approach helped me to feel at ease and to build confidence and pride in my garden. She also helped me to foster a deep appreciation for the natural world and an understanding of the interplay between plants, the environment and our wellbeing.

The garden has become a real joy for me since working with Lizzie to re-organise the planting. Having a clear plan of what to do as well as on-going support to maintain momentum through regular WhatsApp contact, has reassured me that, despite recovering from Long Covid, I am on track to have the garden looking the way I’d like it to. Lizzie was kind, patient, positive and very generous with her time. The plants are looking great and I am feeling better!

As a novice gardener with a complete blank canvas of a garden I had no idea where to start. Lizzie visited me twice first to get an idea of what I hoped for and then to measure up in preparation for the plans. The plans she produced are like painting by numbers for gardening. She’s on hand to answer all my questions by email (which she does really promptly) and will visit again if I need more help but to be honest I feel so well equipped to get stuck in I don’t need any more guidance at the moment. It felt like a big investment at the time but have absolutely no regrets, the whole process has been an utter joy.

For many years I’ve wished I had some confidence in gardening. I’m so used to spending out at the garden centre for a temporary splash of colour, then feeling a wave of disempowered guilt as I watch things wither (along with my bank account!).
What Re-Grounding offers is a thoroughly supportive, informative and enjoyable way of gaining hands-on gardening confidence whilst benefiting from Lizzie’s years of experience which she offers so clearly and non-judgmentally. To be freed from feeling there’s a special language and arcane knowledge -neither of which I have – that’s necessary to be a gardener, to now simply delighting in the process of gardening has been revelatory.
I’m still taking initial steps in that process but I feel completely different about it. Thanks to Lizzie’s no-nonsense and budget-conscious advice and planting plan, I am really excited to watch my garden emerge over the coming months, and knowing I can check in for advice at any point is invaluable.

Lizzie quickly identified a need for us to clarify the big picture of what we wanted to achieve with our garden. She then broke this down into a workable plan that kept us focussed over the following months. She made some really useful suggestions for how to rationalise the plants we had, as well as how to reshape some of our beds. Some things have taken longer than we thought but a series of short visits to see how things were going have really helped to keep us focussed.

I had really low self esteem about my ability to grow anything but Lizzie took me on a journey with her wealth of knowledge, her written guidance and gentle hands-on support. I can now sit in my garden with it flourishing around me feeling deft and completely different.

The workshop I did with Lizzie was really good fun and so satisfying – it’s even made me look differently at produce in the supermarkets (especially those basil plants)! I knew nothing about dealing with plants going into the workshop, but by the end I had a newfound appreciation for the growing process and even the philosophy behind gardening. The workshop not only spoke to the care and time we can give the plants around us, but also to ourselves.
